Good city hotel

The hotel is located directly at the Kurpark, within walking distance of downtown. Rooms in the main house tastefully renovated, large, modern bathroom with walk-in shower, comfortable bed and armchair (footstool would still be good). Large breakfast area, also with great conservatory. Very good selection, friendly service. Wellness area with indoor pool invites you to linger and relax, very good massage. Evening buffet good too.

Would no longer want to visit the hotel

In the bathroom there were black mold joints in the shower area, tap was rusty, crack in the sink. This does not correspond to a 4*S!! Food in the course of the half-board was partly no longer hot. You ask for a Merlot wine and you get white wines listed. Plates are often not cleared in time. You order coffee and you don't get the cups put in place and you have to adjust them yourself in your place. According to the Internet, construction work was planned for January 12, 25. Construction work started on 07.01.25 during our stay and you walked through the construction site with your bathrobe!!!

Love the Hotel, hate the forced tipping

First, let me write about the good and also state that I would gladly return. This is a very nice 4-star hotel. Not a 5, but a good, solid 4. Maybe even 4.5 star. It's extremely well located, extremely well maintained, extremely clean, very helpful staff, a great spa section, a breakfast buffet rarely seen in Germany with a dinner buffet, while not superior, I found to be more than acceptable. It does have a couple of drawbacks though (the bad). We stayed in the garden section and while we had cool rainy weather for the 6 days of our stay allowing us to open the windows, there is no air of any kind (A.C. or fan) in these rooms so we got lucky. It is my understanding however that the main building has A.C. in the rooms, but I could not verify it. You’ll want to check before booking in the warmer months. There is one major problem with this hotel, though, and that is "forced tipping". Everything is charged to your room and there is a section for "Trinkgeld" (tip) just above your signature, and every single person that is involved in the bill is always looking over your shoulder when you sign. Massage, restaurant, bar......... it doesn't matter. They are right there over your shoulder. It's as bad as the United States. I have always despised the tipping culture of the U.S., and it has always been one of the things I've absolutely loved about Germany in that they pay their people a living wage and tips are not expected being that it's part of the price you pay. But here, it feels forced.
With these two caveats, I would highly recommend this spa hotel.

Service top - Cake very delicious

I was not a hotel guest, but just sat spontaneously in the sun and enjoyed coffee and cake. It was indescribably great. Great quiet place with a great service. The price-performance ratio could not be topped.
I met very nice hotel guests and my next visit will lead me back here, but then with overnight stay in this great house.
Thanks for taking service seriously ❣️

For guests aged 70+!

Since this hotel sells its rooms in pharmacy magazines, the clientele is really very old, which is not a bad thing in itself, but the dinner times (from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.) are understandable.
We also went to the SPA, which was a total disappointment for the money.
