Value for a 3* hotel and good base
Sunbay was ideally positioned for the type of holiday we wanted. We were able to explore Oistins, St Lawrence gap, Maxwell and Worthing whilst also having a day in Bridgetown after the hotel arranged a taxi for us.
The rooms were dated and needed a spruce up to say the least but they were spacious and the large balcony with a sea view was very nice.
Weird how the bathrooms had a large vent into the hallway meaning you could hear someone showing (amongst other things) from the other end of the hallway.
Cleaning staff were fantastic, and cleaned our room daily.
Pool area is pretty basic and the breakfast was not great!
I wouldn’t call the onsite food a restaurant and it was a bit over priced for food based on the quality. We ate out almost every day and night (even breakfast)
Staff were laid back and often looked like they weren’t sure what to do or how to approach guests. A bit of customer service training and behaving with confidence would help.
The little beach over the road was really private and a bit of a tidy up on the walk to it (litter dumped) would really help elevate it.
Locals were great and friendly, definitely need another experience in Barbados.
As a hotel it did what it said in the tin. It was 3* so we knew what to expect, a little more confidence

You only get what u pay for
Hotel was very basic which was what I expected with the price , room were cleaned daily with fresh towels etc which was great , breakfast was just ok ,but they really need to do something about the Marjory of the staff they are downright miserable especially in the restaurant,had got in touch with hotel few weeks prior to arrival to say was looking forward to my stay & it was actually my honeymoon,also said at check in , didn’t spark any interest ,really only used hotel as a base , lovely island but won’t return to hotel

The negative reviews I didn't believe, but I had to realize that they were true.

It's a shame:
Reception, housekeeping and most kitchen and service staff incompetent.
(Information incorrect and not matched with each other)
Cleaning from the room and the other premises disastrous.
Towel exchange does not work and room cleaning is not daily.
(only by switching on the tour guide something goes short term)
Condition of the plant:
The roof leaks, so rainwater runs into the room as well as into the hallways from the walls,
is not wiped away but is fixed to the floor only with sheets.
Plug sockets in the room loose, closet doors warped, refrigerator loud and balcony door fittings bent and loose.
Breakfast:
not continental as indicated but stripped down English breakfast.
Guest level ( 4 sports groups with about 20 people) loud.
Aircraft noise from morning 06:00 to evening 20:00 sometimes every 5 minutes.
Definitely not recommended
Star rating and recommendation are not correct.

Lovely place
What a lovely hotel very clean and so close to a very beautiful beach , in-between oistins and St lawrence gap , walkable or just jump on zr bus staff were lovely and friendly definitely go back to this hotel , room had iron kettle hair dyer and safe you didn't have to pay extra for any of it which was bonus , also microwave in room and fridge , there was a supermarket 20 min walk away , just overall lovely stay

Overall very good
What a lovely clean hotel, on arriving the receptionist was very helpful, we were assisted with our cases to the room, the dinning room was big enough for all the guest, we went b/b and breakfast was of plenty and lots of variety, the food overall was very nice be it snacks or evening meals in which we tried, the pool areas were clean and plenty of sun beds the water wasn’t to cold but lovely because it was very hot so cooled you down, the room we had overlooked the pool and was nice and clean bed was really comfy, the cleaners were really nice came every other day stocked up with clean towels and toiletries and bed changed in the middle of our 10 nights of our holiday,
The beach is just across the road from the front of the hotel, there is a small sports bar to the right up the road and at the end of the road to the left is another bar called hang 10, if your not a walker just flag down a mini bus for 3.50 barbados dollars you can travel to any destination, the supermarket Massey is to the right from the front main road prices are quite reasonable my overall opinion on this hotel is very nice would recommend
My only fault I have about this hotel is that the bar closes at 8pm much too early if you don’t want to go out it would be nice to enjoy a drink in the hotel
